Okemo

Okemo, which is situated not too far from Ascutney is another difficult ski access road. Its length and elevation gain are also similar to Ascutney's. But whereas Ascutney is an even gradient, Okemo is very inconsistent. This means that while you can get away with bigger gears on Okemo, the steep parts might actually hurt more. The race up Okemo throws another wrench into things, because it features 2 miles of flat racing before the climb starts, meaning you'll have to forego the kind of single-ring setups that most people use on Ascutney and Washington.
