If you haven't paid attention to the gradient map, you'll crest the top of the first section and start wondering what all the fuss is about. When it starts climbing again, you'll quickly realize that you really haven't hit the climb yet. The finishing section is a steady 10%, and if you've just done Lincoln Gap it'll really hurt.
